On Wednesday, Year 6 had a
very long day as they ventured out on their 12 hour visit to the capital city.
After a bus tour through central London, their first stop was at the Houses of
Parliament. The children were able to look around both the House of Commons and
the House of Lords as well as the Queen's Robing Room and Westminster Hall.
They learned all about UK democracy and how the country is run.
The next stop was across Westminster
Bridge (with a quick stop on the bridge to look at the London skyline) and into
London Sea Life Aquarium. The children were fascinated with the large array of
marine and fresh-water sea life and their personal tour guide was able to
answer all of their questions. This was the perfect fabulous finish to the
children's topic, Awesome Oceans. |
