Year 4 Visit to Amazon Logistics Centre

On Tuesday 28th January, Year 4 were lucky enough to visit the Amazon logistics centre in Tilbury.  We were taken to a training room within the Amazon site that is so big it can fit over eight football pitches inside of it.  In the training room we all became future robotics engineers and had the opportunity to complete some in-depth Computer Science work with the Ozo robots, including working with colour and proximity sensors.  We had a complete tour of the robots on the factory floor and the speed and precision that occurs from the moment you order a package from Amazon to the dispatching of it. The class were given a lovely limited-edition Amazon van to take home and a class robot to use in their lessons.  Although it was an early start, the day was fantastic with comments from the children such as ‘the best place ever’ and ‘I have learnt so very much’ and the year 4 class were so amazing that the staff at Amazon commented regularly on their fantastic behaviour- what a great way to show our Kendall Core Christian values year 4.
