This week all of the children have been learning about LGBT History Month (February each year) through a
range of activities in their classes. Mr Rodger kicked the week off with a workshop focusing on how the
rainbow is a symbol of peace and unity that the LGBT community have adopted as their flag. Children have
thought about how differences make us all unique and special and how important it is to treat people with
equal respect. Celebrating LGBT History Month each year not only allows our children to gain an insight into
other people's lives, but also helps us work towards our Stonewall Champion School Gold Award which we
hope to be able to apply for later in the year. Our hall is now covered in displays showing off all of the
children's learning. It looks amazing and very colourful - make sure you get a chance to look at it next time
you drop in. |
