This week
the children have been learning about LGBT history month.
This year's
theme for LGBT History Month is Peace which fits in perfectly with our Core
Christian Values. On Monday the children received a visit from Tracy from
Outhouse East who led them in workshops thinking about ‘What is love?’ The
children also had some time to learn about different types of families and
reflected that we all have different families but they are all special to us.
In worship Mr Rodger spoke to the children about his family and we thought
carefully about what equality means.
Throughout
the week the children have been learning about different aspects of equality,
and the LGBT community, from art work and the significance of flags and symbols
to how language can be a powerful tool for peace. Thursday afternoon (7th February) the children
had an opportunity to share all of their learning in our special assembly. |
