School History

In 1890 Kendall School was founded to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England in the New Town Area.

The school transferred to the new site in January 1976. Kendall's position is unique with shady playgrounds surrounded by mature woodland that we use for Outdoor Learning and Forest School Sessions.

Our present building was extended in 2012 and now has seven classrooms, a multipurpose hall, library, ICT suite and other spaces and rooms for the children to work in as well as a well-equipped kitchen which we use to provide high quality and healthy school meals. Since September 2007, we have worked with Puddleducks Pre-school to ensure pre-school provision is available on our site. They now use our purpose built pre-school building.

Our position as a voluntary controlled church school is important to us and our families. Our six core values of Peace, Friendship, Thankfulness, Respect, Forgiveness and Compassion run through all that we try to do for our children and their families. Our local Church of England vicar regularly leads our worship and we have special services in our local church for Harvest, Christmas and Easter.
